Job Title: Director of the Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center (MVSBDC)

Job Description: The Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at MVCC's thINCubator is here to help businesses start-up, grow, and expand. The successful candidate will lead the SBDC team and ensure businesses in the Mohawk Valley can maneuver around obstacles to success. This position will provide businesses one-to-one business counseling, management and technical advisement, and will develop educational programs targeted to the needs and interests of small business owners. The successful candidate will expand on Mohawk Valley Community College’s commitment to being the “Community’s College” by building meaningful relationships with community members and small businesses.

This position directs the SBDC Regional Center that provides services to local small businesses in accordance with New York State, State University of New York, Mohawk Valley Community College, and the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Job Title: Covid-19 Disaster Project Coordinator

Job Description: The New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC) is a non-profit organization that provides technical assistance including counseling and training to entrepreneurs and small business owners. The assistance provided includes identification of funding sources, development of business plans and cash flow projections and resolution of a range of issues that can impact a small business. The NYSBDC has 22 regional centers located around NYS.

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all small businesses that had to close in late March due to stay-at-home orders by the state government. The Disaster Project Coordinator will oversee Covid-19 support efforts for small businesses at the SBDC regional centers throughout the network and work with the State Director, Associate State Directors and Regional Center Directors to resolve issues, provide information to the network staff, and compile reports as needed. This is a temporary Full-Time benefits-eligible position that is anticipated last until 9/30/2021, contingent upon funding.

Job Title: Business Advisor - SBDC Clinton Location

Job Description: SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center is seeking a Business Advisor to provide business advice, assistance and information to entrepreneurs and small business owners at our Clinton Community College location. Will aid in developing business, marketing, and/or strategic plans, prepare financial projections, and coordinate client assistance activities. Work with a large volume of business clients with diverse needs.

Required: BA/BS, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with local economic development agencies, service providers and banking community.

Preferred: Experience in bank loan operations or small business management.
