Since our start in 1984, the expert advisors of the North Country SBDC have worked directly with 6,335 businesses, helping them to invest $65,980,310 in the area's economy, who have created or saved 2,429 jobs.
The North Country SBDC serves the rural counties of northeastern New York. Our regional office is located at the Plattsburgh-SUNY campus. We have established outreach centers in the towns of Lake Placid, Malone and Ticonderoga. The Center can arrange off-work-hour meetings for clients. We pride ourselves in being customer friendly and accessible to all.
If you or your business reside in New York, the SBDC can maneuver you around the obstacles to success. Among other things, we help our clients:
- understand the importance of a business plan
- discover sources of funding
- prepare for e-commerce
- identify avenues for exporting goods & services
- develop marketing plans
- assess an invention’s viability

And thanks to our partners in the public and private sectors, our services are free of charge.
