Since our start in 1993, the expert advisors of the Midtown Manhattan SBDC have worked directly with 14,408 businesses, helping them to invest $98,368,567 in the area's economy, who have created or saved 5,147 jobs.

The Midtown Manhattan SBDC combines the expertise of professional business advisors with the resources of the Field Center for Entrepreneurship to provide clients with one-on-one counseling, workshops and seminars. We provide expert assistance to help entrepreneurs develop business plans, marketing strategies, financial proposals, and introductions to banks to facilitate loans. Our teams assist with e-commerce, management issues, franchising, contract procurement and home based business.

One-on-one counseling is offered on a short term or long term basis by the same professional advisor or team. When appropriate, we may use a team approach in which a business advisor supervises the client’s progress but may arrange private counseling with specialists such as a professor, or technical assistance by an MBA marketing or finance intern. For complete information, you may e-mail us or visit our website at http://zicklin.baruch.edu/centers/field

If you or your business reside in New York, the SBDC can maneuver you around the obstacles to success.  Among other things, we help our clients:

  • understand the importance of a business plan
  • discover sources of funding
  • prepare for e-commerce
  • identify avenues for exporting goods & services
  • develop marketing plans
  • assess an invention’s viability
  • comply with licensing & regulations

And thanks to our partners in the public and private sectors, our services are free of charge.
