Regional Center Director – Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
State University of New York College at Plattsburgh

The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh’s School of Business and Economics is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our Small Business Development Center regional office in Plattsburgh, New York, to begin no later than September 1, 2008.  With a staff of five other professionals, the director will be responsible for day-to-day management of an SBDC Regional Center.  This requires a comprehensive knowledge of business operations and practices and the capacity to effectively manage staff to provide counseling and training to clients who are presently or prospectively engaged in small business enterprise.  This year-round position will administer a number of SBDC projects, including client counseling, satellite offices, a novel web-based portal, and will assist in our small business incubator.  The Regional Director will maintain a client counseling caseload and provide support assistance to staff in their counseling needs.  Administration of the fiscal component of the program requires an understanding of campus, SBDC Lead Center, State, Federal and host fiscal policies, all of which are subject to internal, State and Federal audit.  For more information, visit the following websites:  SUNY Plattsburgh Small Business Development Center at http://www/plattsburgh.edu/offices/support/sbdc/, New York State Small Business Development Center at http://www.nyssbdc.org, and Association of Small Business Centers at http://www.asbdc-us.org/

This position requires five years or more private business experience including two years in a management and/or consulting capacity.  A Bachelors degree is required, though a Masters degree is preferred.
