"Erica Chase is in the business of helping small businesses grow. Chase is acting director of the Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale State College, a cooperative between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the State of New York. Chase and her experienced staff advise entrepreneurs on everything from developing marketing strategies to locating appropriate funding. The Queen City Pop-Up program provides retailers two months of free storefront space along Main Street in Buffalo. The goal is for business owners to gain the experience and knowledge of what it takes to run a brick-and-mortar operation downtown. The program brings together a variety of organizations, including the Buffalo State Small Business Development Center.
